Volunteers play a vital role within our SHIP community. Their valuable donation of time helps create the fundamental building blocks of friendship, involvement, and inclusion. These are crucial elements for individuals with mental illness as they begin their journey to recovery.
SHIP is committed to ensuring that our volunteer experience is rewarding and enjoyable. We offer placement opportunities that match your interests with our programs. After determining the scheduling that works best for you, SHIP provides volunteer orientation and training support.
All placements are based on a mutually agreeable plan.
Join our team of more than 70 volunteers (including individuals, community groups, students, and client volunteers) who share their unique talents and expertise in more than 14 different types of SHIP volunteer activities.

Thanks to generous grants from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, SHIP launched our Volunteer Program in 2001, to recognize and celebrate the International Year of Volunteers. This worthwhile and rewarding arrangement has created a supportive environment in which members of the community can make a lasting difference in the lives of our client population.
We salute our volunteers, including our Board of Directors, and recognize their efforts as a positive sign pointing the way to a brighter future.
