Central Intake

Central Intake is a single point of access that streamlines the intake process for Supportive Housing In Peel (SHIP), Supportive Housing in Etobicoke/York (SHEY), Housing and Support Peel (HASP), and Peace Ranch.

Administered and staffed by SHIP, Central Intake provides co-ordinated access to existing housing and support services to individuals dealing with mental illness in Peel Region and Toronto West (Etobicoke/York). Applications are accepted from self-referrals or referrals of community agencies, hospitals, and psychiatrists.

On behalf of SHIP and our eight housing and support partners, Central Intake services include:

1. Procuring documentation
2. Providing an initial review of eligibility
3. Matching appropriate support services to the needs of the client
4. Maintaining wait lists

To qualify, applicants must sign the consent form, complete an application form, and arrange for a psychiatric report. Central Intake must receive reports within six months of date of application.
