Tenant Relations

SHIP’s Tenant Relations team works with tenants to provide assistance and guidance enabling them to live independently and to achieve individual goals.

Each tenant has a Tenant Relations worker who:

  • Fully explains expectations and tenant responsibilities
  • Ensures that the client understands the Tenancy Agreement
  • Co-ordinates their relocation and settlement into their new home
  • Conducts home visits to provide ongoing tenancy support and to ensure tenancy agreements are respected
  • Maintains a close and ongoing collaborative relationship with the tenant, landlord and support staff to form a link between landlord and tenant
  • Provides tenancy intervention and mediation, if necessary, to support SHIP’s eviction prevention policy

SHIP tenants know they have someone they can turn to who will answer their questions and provide the solutions required for successful housing. Educating and supporting our tenants as they establish themselves in an independent living setting provides positive direction and stability.

In our quest for additional housing opportunities to meet demands, SHIP continues to take advantage of new development opportunities and to seek out landlords interested in supporting our efforts. For more information please contact our Housing Management team at: info@shipshey.ca
