Rent Support
Through community partnerships and the generosity of our funders, SHIP is able to offer safe and affordable housing for individuals living with the challenges of mental illness that are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
Rental support units are leased by SHIP on behalf of our tenants and administered through SHIP’s Housing and Operations division. The portion of rent paid is based on each individual tenant’s income.
SHIP provides support services to over 800 individuals living independently in the community and currently:
- owns and operates four multi-residential properties
- maintains lease agreements or head leases with over 500 housing units in Peel and over 70 housing units in West Toronto
- develops and reinforces relationships with over 50 landlords in Brampton, Mississauga, West Toronto and Dufferin County
To request an information and application package, call SHIP’s Central Intake department at 905-795-8742 or follow this link for a printable copy Central Intake Application Form.
In our quest for additional housing opportunities to meet demands, SHIP continues to take advantage of new development opportunities and to seek out landlords interested in supporting our efforts. For more information please contact info@shipshey.ca
