Client Services

SHIP strengthens services through the provision of in-house teams and by developing and maintaining our partnerships with community-based agencies.

Our teams have professionals in the areas of psychiatry, nursing, social work, occupational therapy, addictions specialists and experts in vocational and peer assistance. We provide supportive counselling and health and wellness training in the areas of general mental health, mental health and justice, early intervention, dual diagnosis and frail elderly seniors.

SHIP’s client service programs include:

  • Assertive Community Treatment Teams (ACTT) – multi-disciplinary teams providing community-based treatment, rehab and support for clients in need of a higher level of service
  • Residential Multi-Service Teams (RMST) – multi-service teams providing individual case management for clients who need less intensive support to assist them to live independently in the community
  • Short Term Residential Crisis Support Beds Program – staffed to provide crisis intervention and short-term intensive support to individuals in crisis, who may or may not be SHIP clients, and are at risk of coming into conflict with the Criminal Justice System
  • Recovery Residences – 24 X 7 staff presence in a recovery-based alternative to traditional group home model

SHIP has a wide range of recovery-based programs designed to deliver effective services. We educate our clients, their families and their significant others on the realities of living with mental illness and provide them with additional resources available in the community and how they can access them.
