Destination Café is a coffee shop and Internet cafe managed and staffed by individuals with mental illness. In addition to organic, fair-trade and freshly roasted coffee, Destination Café offers its customers specialty coffees and coffee beans, tea and hot chocolate, bagels, muffins, cookies and a wide variety of gift baskets.

Since its formal Grand Opening in 2004, this initiative has provided employment and advancement opportunities to clients – in a work setting that is sensitive to social needs and skills development.

The value of going to work each day is an important part of the recovery process and ensures staff can:

• interact socially and intellectually with peers, co-workers and the public
• work in an environment that helps develop and enhance problem-solving skills
• be a contributing member in the community in which they live
