During the planning phase before opening Destination Café , SHIP recognized the additional employment opportunities presented by employing our clients to clean the café. This initial decision prompted the beginning of the DC Business – a SHIP initiative which has expanded to now include:

• DC Custodial + Services – our multi-residential building cleaning services
• DC Coach2Clean – a specialized eviction prevention program which combines cleaning services with an educational and coaching component
• DC Cleans4U – a customized apartment cleaning service provided at a reasonable rate to our tenants

Each of these business ventures provides flexible training and employment opportunities in an atmosphere of acceptance and understanding. As employees, our clients further develop their skills while recognizing their value as members of the working community.
